FAIR-AI is a flagship project of the Austrian AI Strategy (AIM 2030) that examines societal risks in the development and use of AI. The aim is to identify and reduce technical, organizational, and human risk factors in the AI life cycle.
At the mid-term event in the ballroom of the Vienna University of Economics and Business on December 9, 2025, representatives from the business community presented their current use cases. The audience consisted of experts in AI research, ethics, law, and administration.
Dr. Michael Mett (Head of Research) gave a lecture and poster presentation on “AI-supported tunnel monitoring” as part of Use Case 4.
This was followed by several panel discussions that provided an opportunity for an intensive exchange on the fair, responsible, and transparent use of AI. Different professional perspectives contributed to a lively and constructive discourse.
The evening concluded with a relaxed networking session accompanied by delicious appetizers—an ideal opportunity to make new contacts, deepen existing collaborations, and develop shared visions for the future of responsible AI.
