TUNSPEKT successful - and kickoff!

Dibit Measuring Technique is pleased to be the consortium leader of the pioneering FFG project TUNSPEKT for AI-supported tunnel inspection in the D-A-CH area - a milestone for automated condition monitoring and damage detection in road tunnels.

Dibit Measuring Technique is proud to announce that we have won the FFG call “D-A-CH Cooperation Transport Infrastructure Research 2024” as consortium leader.

With a high-quality consortium of 7 partners covering the entire D-A-CH area, we were able to win the topic “Automated condition monitoring and damage detection in road tunnels”.

TUNSPEKT (Innovative Road Tunnel Inspection using AI Approaches) is about the further development of inspection methods in tunnel construction. In particular, AI approaches for detecting and analyzing damage and tunnel areas that are difficult to access, such as ventilation ducts, are being considered. New types of sensors are also being used for the first time to record the condition of tunnels.

The consortium consists of: Dibit Messtechnik (Innsbruck, AT), Fraunhofer IPM (Freiburg, D), JOANNEUM RESEARCH DIGITAL (Graz, AT), Pro2Future GmbH (Linz, AT), ILF Consulting Engineers in Austria (Rum, AT), UHG Consult Urs Grunicke (Salzburg, AT) and ILF Consulting Engineers Switzerland (Zurich, CH).

The kick-off meeting for the project took place on November 13 and 14, 2024, at the Dibit headquarters in Innsbruck. In addition to the consortium partners, representatives of the clients ASFINAG, the Federal Highway Research Institute and the Federal Roads Office FEDRO were also present. Many thanks for the input, the many discussions and getting to know you personally.

We look forward to working with this valuable team and to taking tunnel inspection to a new level in terms of hardware and software.
